Aqua Bedding Cleaning Tips

The best methods to clean your aqua bedding sets

When my cat threw up on our bed the other night, I had the displeasure of trying to think quick on how to fix it. I quickly grabbed up all the sheets, sprayed off all visible vomit, and threw the comforter in the washer. A half hour later, I was in dismay as I pulled out a comforter with its padding pushed in every direction, and damaged to a state beyond possible repair. That is not a state we want our visitors to be in and so, I've prepared some tips to help you avoid damaging your comforter when you're trying simply to clean it.

The first strategy in cleaning your comforter is to evaluate your reasoning. Is it very dirty, or is it simply getting dusty or accumulating some spots of dirt. If it isn't anything that serious, you could simply take the comforter outside, hit it a few times with a racquet or your hand, and then lay it out in the sun. The air will help clean off some of the accumulated dirt and get the comforter fresh again.

When some stains appear, whether it be from the aforementioned vomit or from any kind of spill, try scrubbing it out. Manual labor on the bedding is a lot less damaging and will allow you to get the stains out without any long term damage to the bedding. After doing this, you could even go back to step one and leave your comforter outside to help dry off any of the wetness from your cleaning efforts.

For some, you might be in luck and have an easy out here. Check if your bedding is machine washable, and if you're lucky, it will be. When you have a machine washable bedding set, you can simply through it in the washer like anything else and let it take care of the trouble. It's a bit riskier than the other options so definitely try and google around to make sure the brand you own is machine washable, but if it is, you should be safe.

In the end, these steps are all easy ways in which you can preserve your bedding set and continue to keep it clean. It's a nice feeling to know that your sheets are clean, and in good condition. A feeling that I wish I still had.
